Traditional Baked Beans Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Dried small white beans |
4 1/2 cups | 1066ml | Water |
1/3 cup | 78ml | Molasses |
1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Brown sugar |
1 | Onion - chopped | |
1/4 lb | 113g / 4oz | Salt pork - in 1" cubes |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Dijon mustard |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
Combine all ingredients. Cover and cook on LOW 13-14 hours, stirring occasionally if possible.
For added nutrition, serve with rice or bread or cornbread.
