Spicy Chicken And Brown Rice Recipe - Cooking Index
3 cups | 711ml | Water |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Chopped onions |
4 teaspoons | 20ml | Chicken bouillon |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Extra spicy herb and spice seasoning |
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Brown rice |
1 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Kellogg's all-bran cereal |
1 | Frozen mixed vegetables - (10 oz.) | |
10 oz | 284g | Canned white chicken - or turkey meat |
4 oz | 113g | Mushroom stems and pieces |
In 3-quart saucepan, combine water, onions, bouillon and seasoning; bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir in rice; cover and simmer over low heat, 30 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in KELLOGG'S ALL-BRAN cereal and remaining ingredients. Place in 3-quart casserole dish; cover.
Bake in 325F F. oven about 60 minutes or until rice is tender and vegetables are done. Serve hot.
Microwave: In 3-quart microwave-safe casserole dish combine water, onions, bouillon and seasoning. Cook on HIGH power 7 minutes or until mixture starts to boil. Add rice; cover and cook on High 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Stir in KELLOGG'S ALL-BRAN cereal and remaining ingredients.
Cook on HIGH 8 minutes longer or until vegetables are done. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
Note: Microwave cooking times may vary, depending on oven wattage. Recipe tested in 700 watt microwave.
