Jocie's Tuna Casserole Recipe - Cooking Index
7 oz | 198g | Macaroni - (creamettes) |
2 | Cream of mushroom soup - camp bells
3/4 | Milk | |
3 | Tuna in water - drained
2 | Celery ribs - chopped | |
1 | Onion - chopped (small)
1/2 | Green pepper - chopped (medium)
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Butter |
Black pepper - to taste | ||
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Mushroom pieces |
Add 1 tablespoon salt and oil to a large pot of boiling water. Cook macaroni until tender, and drain.
Saute vegetables gently in butter until limp. Add soup, tuna, milk, and pepper. Heat thoroughly, then mix with noodles in a 2-quart casserole.
Casserole may be served "as is", or baked for 20 minutes, uncovered, in a 325F oven. If baking is preferred, increase milk slightly to thin mixture, as it will cook down somewhat in the oven. Before baking, you can top with crushed potato chips, or crushed Ritz crackers blended with a bit of melted butter.
NOTES : My family loves this.
