5 | Bread - cut in 1/2" cubes | |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Butter - (or marg.), melted |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Mushrooms - sliced |
2 cups | 474ml | Shrimp; peeled - cooked, deveined |
2 cups | 292g / 10oz | American cheese - shredded |
3 | Eggs - beaten | |
2 cups | 474ml | Milk |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1 | Black pepper | |
1 | Paprika |
Brown bread cubes in butter; remove from skillet and set aside. Cook mushrooms in butter for about 10 minutes. In a buttered 1-1/2quart casserole dish, alternate layers of bread cubes, mushrooms, shrimp, and cheese.
Combine eggs, milk, and seasonings; pour over layers. Place casserole dish in a pan of hot water, and bake at 350F for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
