Cheese-Topped Beef And Potato Bake Recipe - Cooking Index
1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Ground beef |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Onion - diced (medium) |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Celery stalk - diced (medium) |
32 oz | 909g | Tomato sauce |
4 oz | 113g | Mushrooms - sliced |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Sugar |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Pepper |
3 teaspoons | 15ml | Potatoes - thinly sliced (medium) |
4 oz | 113g | Mozzarella cheese - shredded |
Cook beef , onion, and celery until browned. Stir in tomato sauce, mushrooms, water, salt, sugar and pepper. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low.
Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Into a 9x13-inch baking dish, spoon 1/3 of beef mixture. Arrange 1/2 of potato slices on top.
Repeat, ending with ground beef mixture. Cover dish with foil.
Bake in 375F oven for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender.
Remove from oven. Discard foil. Sprinkle with cheese. Return to oven just until cheese melts.
