6 | Eggs - beaten | |
2 cups | 474ml | Milk |
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Sharp cheddar cheese - cubed |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter |
1 | Onion - grated | |
2 cups | 292g / 10oz | Soft bread crumbs - (3 slices bread) |
2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Cooked ham or chicken - cubed |
Cut asparagus spears in small pieces and cook until tender-crisp. Combine remaining ingredients, mix with asparagus and pour into greased 2 quart baking dish. Bake 1 1/4 hrs. in moderate oven (300F to 325F) or until firm.
