Onion Casserole Recipe - Cooking Index
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vidalia onions - sliced (large) |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter or margarine - melted |
1 | Cream of chicken soup - condensed | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Milk |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Soy sauce |
2 cups | 292g / 10oz | Swiss cheese - shredded (8 oz.) |
1/2 | Loaf french bread | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter or margarine - melted |
Saute onion in 2 T. butter in a large skillet until crisp-tender. Spoon into an 8x12x2 inch casserole.
Combine soup, milk, and soy sauce, mix well; pour over onion. Sprinkle cheese evenly over sauce. Cut bread into 3/4 inch slices; arrange on top of casserole. Brush bread with butter. Bake at 350F. for 30 minutes or until bread is golden brown.
