2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Zucchini - shredded (medium) |
1 | Onion - finely chopped | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Minced dill |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Dry mustard |
1 | Jalapeño pepper (optional) - deveined and minced | |

3 teaspoons | 15ml | Whole-wheat pita breads - halved crosswise (small) |
1 1/2 cups | 355ml | Torn romaine lettuce |

Spray the broiler or grill rack with nonstick cooking spray; set aside. Preheat the broiler, or prepare the grill.
In a large bowl, thoroughly combine the beef, zucchini, onion, dill, mustard, jalapeño (if using) and black pepper. Form into 6 patties.
Arrange the patties on the rack; broil 5 inches from the heat 4 to 5 minutes on each side (medium to well-done). Place a hamburger in each pita and top with the lettuce and tomatoes.
