Creamed Chipped Beef Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | Sliced dried beef - (2.25 oz) | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter or margarine |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | All-purpose flour |
1 cup | 237ml | Milk |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Worcestershire sauce |
Cut or tear dried beef into bite-size pieces. Set aside.
Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Sprinkle in flour; stir until smooth. Stir in beef. Stir for 1 to 2 minutes.
Add milk slowly, stirring constantly. Stir in Worcestershire. Increase heat to medium and cook, stirring, until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
Spoon over toast and serve.
Yield: 2 servings.
