Mock Chow Mein Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Ground turkey |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Onion - chopped (medium) |
2 cups | 220g / 7.8oz | Chopped celery |
1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Uncooked rice |
2 cups | 474ml | Water |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Sliced mushrooms |
1 cup | 237ml | Skim milk |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Soy sauce |
1 cup | 237ml | Chow mein noodles |
In a large skillet begin to brown ground turkey and onion. After several minutes add the celery, mushrooms, water and soy sauce. Cover pan tightly, lower heat, and cook for 5 minutes.
Mix in rice and skim milk. Bake in covered casserole for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Remove from oven, uncover and sprinkle chow mein noodles on top. Return to oven uncovered for a few minutes. Serve hot.
