Garden-Style Turkeyloaf

Recipe Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs 681g / 24ozGround turkey breast
1   Frozen chopped spinach - (10 oz) - thawed, drained
1 cup 62g / 2.2ozQuaker Oats (quick or old fashioned) - uncooked
1/2 cup 31g / 1.1ozFinely-chopped onion
1/2 cup 55g / 1.9ozShredded carrots
2   Egg whites or 1 egg - lightly beaten
1/3 cup 78mlSkim milk
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlItalian seasoning
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt - (optional)
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlFreshly-ground black pepper

Recipe Instructions

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape mixture into 9- by 5-inch loaf in baking pan.

Bake 1 hour or until thermometer registers 170 degrees and center is no longer pink. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing.

This recipe yields 8 servings.

Variation: Substitute 1/2 cup finely-chopped green or red bell pepper for spinach.
