Hot Stuffed Avocado Recipe - Cooking Index
4 | Avocados - (peel and halve) (large) | |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Lemon juice |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Garlic powder |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Butter or margarine |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Green onion - (chopped) |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Celery salt |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Cayenne pepper |
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Flour |
2 cups | 474ml | Light cream |
2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Chicken - (cooked and minced) |
1 cup | 237ml | Sharp cheddar - (grated) |
Roll outside of peeled avocados in lemon juice to keep color. Put in large baking pan. Sprinkle with lemon juice and garlic powder. Melt butter; add green onions, celery salt and pepper. Cook 5 minutes.
blend in flour. Add cream. Cook while stirring until thickened. Fold in chicken and 1/2 cup cheese. Bake avocados at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. remove to serving plates. Ladle filling over avocados. top with remaining cheese.
