2 teaspoons | 10ml | Cinnamon |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
3/4 cup | 120g / 4.2oz | Brown sugar - firmly packed |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Margarine or butter - softened |
1 | Egg | |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Unsweetened applesauce |
Glaze | ||
3/4 cup | 148g / 5.2oz | Powdered sugar |
3 teaspoons | 15ml | Milk - up to 4 |
Dried apples and applesauce combine to make this a healthful cake-like
bar.
If time is short, simply sprinkle with powdered sugar instead of glazing.
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 13x9-inch pan with nonstick cooking
spray.
In small bowl, combine dried apples and boiling water; set aside. Lightly
spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. In small bowl, combine
all-purpose flour, rolled oats, wholewheat flour, baking soda, cinnamon
and
salt; mix well. Set aside.
