Cajun-Style Broiled Alaska Halibut (5 PTS) Recipe - Cooking Index
4 | Halibut steaks - thawed if necessary | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Olive oil |
**SEASONING MIX** | ||
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Paprika |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Dried oregano - crushed |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Dried thyme - crushed |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Garlic powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Onion powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cayenne pepper |
In small bowl, combine seasoning mix ingredients; set aside 2 teaspoons of
mixture. Place remaining seasoning mix in air-tight container and reserve
for other uses. Place halibut on baking sheet or broiler pan that has been
coated with non-stick cooking spray. Brush halibut with oil; sprinkle 1/2
teaspoon of seasoning mix evenly over each halibut steak. Broil 10 minutes
per inch of thickness or until fish flakes when tested with fork. Serve
warm.
Tip: Seasoning mix is great on Alaska pollock or cod fillets.
