1 teaspoon | 5ml | Almond extract |
6 cups | 1422ml | Sliced unpeeled tart eating apples (about medium) |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Coarsely crushed zwieback crumbs |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | All-purpose flour |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Chopped almonds |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Ground cinnamon |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Reduced-fat margarine |
Yogurt Topping | ||
**YOGURT TOPPING** | ||
1/2 cup | 118ml | Plain nonfat yogurt |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Almond extract |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Sugar |
Heat oven to 375º. Mix water and almond extract; toss with apples in 1 1/2-quart casserole sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Mix remaining ingredients except Yogurt Topping until crumbly; sprinkle over apples.
Bake until top is golden brown and apples are tender, about 30 minutes.
Serve warm with Yogurt Topping.
