Recipe Ingredients

1 tablespoon 15mlWater
1 teaspoon 5mlAlmond extract
6 cups 1422mlSliced unpeeled tart eating apples (about medium)
1/2 cup 73g / 2.6ozCoarsely crushed zwieback crumbs
2 tablespoons 30mlAll-purpose flour
2 tablespoons 30mlSugar
2 tablespoons 30mlChopped almonds
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlGround cinnamon
3 tablespoons 45mlReduced-fat margarine
  Yogurt Topping
  **YOGURT TOPPING**
1/2 cup 118mlPlain nonfat yogurt
1/8 teaspoon 0.6mlAlmond extract
1 teaspoon 5mlSugar

Recipe Instructions

Heat oven to 375º. Mix water and almond extract; toss with apples in 1 1/2-quart casserole sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Mix remaining ingredients except Yogurt Topping until crumbly; sprinkle over apples.

Bake until top is golden brown and apples are tender, about 30 minutes.

Serve warm with Yogurt Topping.

YOGURT TOPPING: Mix all ingredients.
