1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Margarine or butter - (melted) |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Dried basil - (crushed) |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Dried oregano - (crushed) |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Pepper |
1 | Loaf French bread (split lengthwise (16 inch) | |
1 | Spaghetti sauce | |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Chopped green pepper |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Chopped olives |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Sliced green onion |
1 1/2 cups | 219g / 7.7oz | Shredded mozzarella cheese |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Tomato (large) |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Grated parmesan cheese |
1 cup | 237ml | Alfalfa sprouts |
Pastrami |
Stir together melted margarine, basil, oregano, and pepper. Brush over cut sides of bread halves. Place bread, spread side up on a large baking sheet.
Top both loaf halves with pastrami slices. In small bowl, mix spaghetti sauce, peppers, olives and green onion. Spread over pastrami. Bake in a 400F oven for 15 minutes. Top with mozzarella cheese, tomato and parmesan cheese.
Return to oven. Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Top with alfalfa sprouts. Slice each loaf half into 8 pieces.
