All Purpose Pork Rub Recipe - Cooking Index
Generally speaking, all you really need to make an excellent rub for smoking is equal parts of brown sugar and sweet paprika as a base. You will need to spice it up with salt and pepper to taste and you need a liquid with some flavor to bind the spices to the meat. A good squirt of mustard will do the trick. Add some garlic powder or whatever floats your boat and you will be in good shape.
Cuisine: American3 tablespoons | 45ml | packed brown sugar |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | paprika |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | salt |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | pepper |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | garlic powder |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | mustard |
Put all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add the roast or ribs and mix well so marinade covers every surface.
Cover and refigerate for a few hours (overnight is best but two hours will be fine too) to allow flavors to set.
