Recipe Ingredients

2 lbs 908g / 32ozGround sirloin
1   Onion - finely chopped
1   Garlic clove - minced
1   Tomato sauce - (8 oz)
1 cup 62g / 2.2ozTomato soup - (optional)
1 cup 237mlWater - or more if needed
3 tablespoons 45mlChili powder
1 tablespoon 15mlSalt
1 tablespoon 15mlPaprika
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlFreshly-ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlCumin
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlCayenne
1/4 cup 15g / 0.5ozMasa flour - (to 1/3) - mixed with about
1/2 cup 118mlWater

Recipe Instructions

Saute meat in large saucepan. Add onion and garlic. Cook until onion is soft. Stir in remaining ingredients, except flour, cover and simmer 1 hour.

Remove lid and simmer until excess moisture evaporates (don't let it get too dry). Add flour and cook until thickened, 5 to 10 minutes.
