Gratin Of Potatoes - (Gratin Dauphinois) Recipe - Cooking Index
8 | Potatoes (medium) | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | White pepper |
1 | Grated nutmeg | |
1 cup | 237ml | Scalded milk |
1 cup | 237ml | Light cream |
1 | Egg - beaten | |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Grated Swiss cheese |
Peel potatoes and cut into slices approximately 1/4-inch thick. In a bowl, combine potatoes, salt, pepper, nutmeg, milk, cream, egg, and grated cheese. Turn mixture into a buttered baking dish.
Dot with butter. Bake at 400F for 1 hour, or until potatoes are tender and top is browned. Serve hot.
