Sue's Simple Shrimp Dip Spread Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | -- (4.5 oz.) shrimp parts and pieces
1 | -- (4.5 oz.) whole shrimp
2 | -- (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 | -- (8 oz.) sour cream or plain yogurt
1 | Onion - finely chopped (small)
1 | Garlic salt | |
1 | Chili powder | |
1 | -- (12 oz.) cocktail sauce |
In a colander, drain both cans of shrimp and rinse. Take colander and sift shrimp (so big shrimp pieces come up to the top). Reserve about 2 tablespoons of larger shrimp pieces. Blend together cream cheese, sour cream, onion, garlic salt and chili powder until well blended.
With a fork, gently add shrimp to cream cheese mixture. Shape shrimp dip into a ball on a plate and sprinkle reserved large pieces of shrimp on top. Drizzle cocktail sauce over shrimp dip and serve with assorted crackers.
