Hot Chili-Cheese Dip Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion - chopped (medium) |
2 | Garlic cloves - minced | |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Cooking oil |
3 | Tomatoes - peeled and chopped | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Chili powder |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Hot pepper sauce |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Cheddar cheese - shredded |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Cornstarch |
In a medium saucepan, cook onion and garlic in the oil until tender but not browned. Stir in tomatoes, chili peppers, chili powder and hot pepper sauce.
Boil uncovered for 10 minutes. Stir together cornstarch and 1 Tablespoon cold water; stir into tomato mixture and cook stirring constantly until thickened and bubbly.
Add cheese to mixture and stir until its melted.
Serve warm with tortilla strips.
