KFC Cole Slaw Recipe - Cooking Index
6 cups | 1422ml | Cabbage - chop |
1 cup | 110g / 3.9oz | Carrots - shred fine |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Sugar |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Pepper |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Milk |
1 cup | 237ml | Mayo |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Buttermilk |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Celery seed |
3 | Hot pepper sauce | |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Dry minced onion |
Toss cabbage lightly with sugar, carrots, salt and pepper. Drench all with milk. cover and refrigerate for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile combine the mayo, buttermilk, celery seed pepper sauce and onion.
Mix well with cabbage. Refrigerate again at least 1 hour. Before serving drain some of the liquid. This settles quite a bit. Keeps for 24 hours.
