Tex-Mex Bake

Recipe Ingredients

2 cups 125g / 4.4ozCrushed corn chips
4 oz 113gChopped green chiles* - (1 cn)
1 oz 28gEgg beaten (large)
3 oz 85gMonterey Jack cheese**
2 tablespoons 30mlWater
8 oz 227gTomato sauce - (1 cn)
1   Onion soup mix
1   Green pepper - chopped
1 lb 454g / 16ozLean ground beef

Recipe Instructions

* Green chiles should be drained. ** Cheese should be any mild cheese and should be shredded. Should = 1 cup.

Preheat the oven to 350F. Combine corn chips, egg, and water, press into 9-inch pie plate or casserole. Bake 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in large bowl, combine onion recipe soup mix, ground beef, chiles, and 1/2 C cheese, evenly press into prepared crust. Top with tomato sauce, then green pepper and bake 30 minutes. Top with remaining cheese, then bake an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and beef is done.
