Microwave Char Siu Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1 | Pork butt | |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Honey |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Red coloring |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Chinese five spice |
| 1/4 cup | 59ml | Thick soy sauce |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Oyster sauce |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Red bean curd |
| 1/4 cup | 59ml | Sherry |
| 3 | Garlic - minced | |
| 2 cups | 320g / 11oz | Brown sugar |
Slice pork into pieces about 2" x 6". Combine all the ingredients and marinate overnight.
Arrange five or six pieces of pork in a single layer, fat side down on a microwave roasting rack in a flat glass baking dish.
Microwave on HIGH for 10 minutes; turn pork, fat side up, and baste.
Microwave on ROAST (low) for 12 to 15 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing.
