Chinese Almond Cookies Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
3/4 cup | 148g / 5.2oz | Margarine |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Baking soda |
3 cups | 187g / 6.6oz | Flour |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Almond extract |
24 | Almonds |
Cream sugar and margarine. Add baking soda, flour and almond extract.
Knead by hand for 2-3 minutes until dough is pliable. Shape into small balls and place 2" apart on a greased cookie sheet.
Gently press and almond onto each cookie.
Bake at 325F for 35-45 minutes until lightly browned, but still soft.
Cookies will firm up as they cool.
Makes 24 cookies.
