Spanish Rice - 3 Recipe - Cooking Index
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Cooking oil |
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Long-grain rice |
3 | Garlic - whole | |
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Onion - chopped |
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Tomatoes - chopped |
2 cups | 474ml | Chicken broth |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Tomato sauce |
Heat oil in skillet and saute rice until browned. Scoot to one side of the skillet and add onions, garlic and tomatoes and saute along with the rice. Add tomato sauce until all is bubbly, then finally add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
After you bring to a boil, stir a couple of times, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat when all liquid has been absorbed. Fluff with fork just before serving.
