1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter or margarine |
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Top sirloin steak - coarse grind |
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Top sirloin steak - cubed |
3 | Green peppers chopped | |
3 | Onions-chopped (large) | |
3 cups | 279g / 9.8oz | Garlic-minced - (i used more) |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Parsley-snipped |
3 cups | 187g / 6.6oz | Tomatoes-16 oz including liquid |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Chili powder |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Cumin |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Black pepper |
1 oz | 28g | Tabasco |
In a large cooking pot brown meat in the butter/margarine. Pour off 1/3 cup liquid from meat and saute green pepper, onion, garlic & parsley in separate skillet until tender.
Add to meat mixture and stir in chili powder, salt, pepper and cumin. Add Tabasco and tomatoes. Simmer entire mixture 1 hour covered, remove lid and simmer at least 30 min longer. Stir occasionally.
