Tom Wayman's Chili

Recipe Ingredients

1/2 cup 99g / 3.5ozButter or margarine
2 lbs 908g / 32ozTop sirloin steak - coarse grind
2 lbs 908g / 32ozTop sirloin steak - cubed
3   Green peppers chopped
3   Onions-chopped (large)
3 cups 279g / 9.8ozGarlic-minced - (i used more)
1/2 cup 118mlParsley-snipped
3 cups 187g / 6.6ozTomatoes-16 oz including liquid
1/4 cup 59mlChili powder
2 tablespoons 30mlSalt
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlCumin
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlBlack pepper
1 oz 28gTabasco

Recipe Instructions

In a large cooking pot brown meat in the butter/margarine. Pour off 1/3 cup liquid from meat and saute green pepper, onion, garlic & parsley in separate skillet until tender.

Add to meat mixture and stir in chili powder, salt, pepper and cumin. Add Tabasco and tomatoes. Simmer entire mixture 1 hour covered, remove lid and simmer at least 30 min longer. Stir occasionally.
