| 500 | Ground beef | |
| 2 | Yellow onions - chopped (large) | |
| 500 | Kidney beans | |
| 250 | Tomato paste | |
| 200 | Water | |
| 4 | Garlic | |
| 1 | Bay leaf | |
| 30 | Ketchup | |
| 15 | Chili powder |
1. Brown the meat and onions, separately if desired.
2. In a large, heavy pot, combine the meat and onions, and the other ingredients.
3. Simmer .I "at least" one hour. Six or more hours is better.
4. Stir in the chili powder.
