Jay's Chili

Serves: 8 people

Recipe Ingredients

2   Onions; med - finely chopped *
1   Green bell pepper - f/chopped*
1   Celery stalk - finely chopped*
2   Garlic cloves - minced *
2 teaspoons 10mlOil
4 lbs 1816g / 64ozLean ground beef
2   Stewed tomatoes - 14 1/2oz cns
1   Tomato sauce - 15-oz can
1   Tomato paste - 6-oz can
1/4 cup 59mlGreen chili salsa
1   Jalapeno - finely chopped
3/4 cup 177mlChili powder
1   Diced green chilies
1/2 cup 118mlWater
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt

Recipe Instructions

In Dutch oven, saute first four starred ingredients in hot oil until tender. Add meat, 1 pound at a time, stirring until meat loses redness. Drain; add water.

Add remaining ingredients, stirring after each addition. Simmer 2 1/2 to 3 hours, stirring frequently. Season to taste with garlic salt and pepper, if desired.
