Gourmet Chili Pot Pie Topping

Recipe Ingredients

1 cup 62g / 2.2ozAll purpose flour
1 cup 62g / 2.2ozYellow corn meal
3 tablespoons 45mlSugar
2 teaspoons 10mlBaking powder
3 tablespoons 45mlButter - melted and cooled
3/4 cup 177mlMilk
1   Egg - lightly beaten
1/2 cup 73g / 2.6ozGrated cheddar cheese
2 teaspoons 10mlChopped chilies - or to
  Taste

Recipe Instructions

Into a bowl sift together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder.

Add the butter, milk and the egg, and stir the batter until it is just combined.

Stir in the cheddar and the chilies and cover the top of the casserole in which you have the chili.

Bake the potpie in the middle of a preheated 400F oven for 10 minutes.

Reduce the heat to 350F and bake the potpie for 30 minutes more.
