Country Chili Recipe - Cooking Index
1 oz | 28g | Onion - chopped (large) |
10 | Garlic - chopped | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Margarine - reduced-calorie |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Whole basil - dried |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Chili powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Whole oregano - dried |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Whole thyme - dried |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Pepper |
16 oz | 454g | Tomatoes - undrained (1 cn) |
Chopped | ||
8 oz | 227g | Red kidney beans - undrained |
Saute onion and garlic in margarine in a large saucepan until tender.
Add salt, basil, chili powder, oregaro, thyme, and pepper, stirring well.
Stir in tomatoes and beans.
Simmer, uncovered, 10 to 15 minutes. Serve hot.
