1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped green pepper |
1 1/2 cups | 93g / 3.3oz | Chopped onion |
1 cup | 110g / 3.9oz | Chopped celery |
1 | Tomato paste - (6 oz.) | |
2 | Tomatoes - (20 oz.) | |
2 | Brooks hot & spicy chili beans - (20 oz.) | |
2 | Garlic - pressed | |
3 | Bay leaves - crushed | |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Cumin |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Sugar |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Oregano |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Black pepper |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Parsley flakes |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Paprika |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Or more chili powder to taste |
Brown beef, onion, celery and green pepper.
Add remaining ingredients and cook slowly.
Thin if needed with water or tomato juice.
Makes 4 to 5 quarts.
