1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Chopped onion |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Chopped green pepper |
1 cup | 110g / 3.9oz | Sliced celery |
2 | Kidney beans - (15 oz.) | |
2 | Tomatoes - cut up (16 oz.) | |
1 | Tomato paste - (6 oz.) | |
2 | Garlic - minced | |
1/2 tablespoon | 7.5ml | Chili powder |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Salt |
In Dutch oven, cook beef, onion, green pepper and celery until meat is brown and vegetables are tender. Drain kidney beans, reserving liquid. Add beans and remaining ingredients.
Cover; simmer 1-1 1/2 hours. If desired, stir in some reserved bean liquid.
