Whoopee Pies Recipe - Cooking Index
2 1/4 cups | 140g / 4.9oz | Flour |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
1/2 cup | 55g / 1.9oz | Baking cocoa |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Vegetable oil |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Buttermilk or sour milk |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Hot water |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking soda |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla |
1 | Egg |
In a bowl, blend in dry ingredients, then add remaining ingredients mix with electric mixer until blended. Drop on cookie sheet by teaspoon.
Bake at 350F for 8 minutes or until done.
Remove from oven and allow to cool. While cakes cool, prepare filling.
When COOL, take one half (one cake) and spread filling on bottom, then take one more half (one cake) and place on top of the first. (two half's equal one whoppie pie)
