Sesame-Amaranth Cake Recipe - Cooking Index
3/4 cup | 46g / 1.6oz | AM amaranth flour |
3/4 cup | 46g / 1.6oz | AM unbleached white flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Non-alum baking powder |
1/4 cup | 27g / 1oz | Ground sesame seeds |
1/4 cup | 27g / 1oz | Am sesame seeds |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Sea salt (optional) |
1 | Egg - beaten | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | AM unrefined sesame oil |
1/2 cup | 118ml | AM sesame tahini |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Honey or maple syrup |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Milk, soy milk or water |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Lemon extract |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla |
Mix dry ingredients and liquid ingredients in separate bowls, then combine and mix well.
Press mixture into an oiled and floured 9" x 13" cake pan.
Bake at 350F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool slightly before cutting into small wedges.
