Sauerkraut Cake

Recipe Ingredients

1 cup 198g / 7ozSugar
2 cups 125g / 4.4ozFlour
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt
3 tablespoons 45mlCocoa
2 teaspoons 10mlBaking powder
1 teaspoon 5mlBaking soda
1 cup 237mlSauerkraut
3/4 cup 177mlWater
1/3 cup 78mlPowdered milk
1/4 cup 59mlSour cream
1 teaspoon 5mlVanilla
3   Eggs
1/2 cup 99g / 3.5ozShortening
  Coconut for frosting

Recipe Instructions

Combine sugar and cocoa. Add dry ingredients and shortening, blending in shortening.

Add sauerkraut, sour cream, vanilla, eggs and water. Beat about 3 minutes.

Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13 pan at 350F for 25 to 30 minutes.

Cool. Frost with Chocolate frosting and sprinkle with coconut.
