Pepper Cake Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter or margarine |
3 | Eggs beaten | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Rum flavor |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla flavor |
1 1/2 cups | 93g / 3.3oz | Flour |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Black pepper |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Dates - chopped |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Walnuts - chopped |
Cream butter and sugar fluffy. Beat in eggs and flavorings.
Mix together, flour, pepper and salt. Blend flour mixture into creamed mixture. Mix in dates and nuts.
Pour into a greased 8 x 8 inch pan.
Bake 275F (slow oven) 45 minutes or tested done.
Sift with confectioners sugar while warm.
