Crumb Coffee Cake Recipe - Cooking Index
| 2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | All-purpose flour |
| 1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Shortening |
| 1 | Egg - beaten | |
| Baking powder - pinch | ||
| 2 cups | 320g / 11oz | Brown sugar |
| 1 cup | 237ml | Sour milk |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Soda |
Crumble shortening into sugar and flour.
Reserve 3/4 cup of the mixture for topping.
To the remaining dry ingredients add shortening, milk and egg.
Mix well and place in deep, 8" square baking dish.
Cover with the 3/4 cup reserved crumbs.
Bake at 350F for 40 minutes or until done.
