Cocoalight Cake

Recipe Ingredients

		First Ingredients
2 cups	125g / 4.4oz	Flour - sifted
2 cups	396g / 13oz	Sugar
3/4 cup	148g / 5.2oz	Shortening
1 teaspoon	5ml	Salt
2/3 cup	73g / 2.6oz	Cocoa
3/4 cup	177ml	Milk
		Second Ingredients
1/2 teaspoon	2.5ml	Baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons	7.5ml	Baking soda
1/2 cup	118ml	Milk
3 cups	594g / 20oz	Eggs - unbeaten (medium)
1 teaspoon	5ml	Vanilla

Recipe Instructions

In a bowl, mix first ingredients for 2 minutes.

Add second ingredients and beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter into two 9" lightly greased round cake pans.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350F

Cool cake for 15 minutes in pans on wire rack.

Loosen edges with a spatula.

Place rack over cake and invert.

When completely cool frost as desired.

Makes one 9 inch round two layer cake, 12 servings.
