Chocolate Sour Cherry Cake Recipe - Cooking Index
12 tablespoons | 180ml | Unsalted butter |
6 oz | 170g | Semi-sweet chocolate |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
3/4 cup | 46g / 1.6oz | Sifted flour with 1 tbs salt |
6 | Eggs - separated | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla |
1 | Sour cherries - drained |
Preheat oven to 350F.
Melt chocolate and butter together, let cool slightly. Beat egg yolks and sugar until lemon colored. Add chocolate and egg whites. Pour into a buttered 10-1/2" spring form pan.
Sprinkle drained cherries evenly on top.
Bake for 55 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes.
Run knife around edge to loosen. Let cool completely and remove from pan.
