1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Lean ground pork |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Onion - diced (small) |
1 | Garlic - minced | |
1 | Chicken broth | |
1 | Mexican-style chopped tomatoes - drained | |
1 | Pinto beans | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Chile powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Ground cumin |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Oregano |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cayenne |
In large heavy saucepan brown and crumble ground pork. Stir in onion and garlic, cook and stir until onion is soft, about 3 minutes. Stir in all remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer about 10 minutes. Makes six one-cup servings.
