Burnt Sugar Butter Cream Frosting

Recipe Ingredients

1/3 cup 65g / 2.3ozButter
1   Confectioner's sugar
1   Salt
1 teaspoon 5mlVanilla extract
1/2 cup 164g / 5.8ozBurnt sugar syrup
1 tablespoon 15mlTo 2 tablespoons light cream
1/4 cup 36g / 1.3ozPecans - finely chopped

Recipe Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine butter, confectioner's sugar, salt, vanilla and burnt sugar syrup; blend.

Add cream and pecans; blend.

Ice cooled cake.

Use to frost Burnt Sugar cake.

To make burnt sugar, add 1/2 cup sugar to 1/4 cup water. Boil the mixture and caramelize.
