Burnt Sugar Butter Cream Frosting Recipe - Cooking Index
1/3 cup | 65g / 2.3oz | Butter |
1 | Confectioner's sugar | |
1 | Salt | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla extract |
1/2 cup | 164g / 5.8oz | Burnt sugar syrup |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | To 2 tablespoons light cream |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Pecans - finely chopped |
In a mixing bowl, combine butter, confectioner's sugar, salt, vanilla and burnt sugar syrup; blend.
Add cream and pecans; blend.
Ice cooled cake.
Use to frost Burnt Sugar cake.
To make burnt sugar, add 1/2 cup sugar to 1/4 cup water. Boil the mixture and caramelize.
