Asparagus Cake Recipe - Cooking Index
2/3 cup | 131g / 4.6oz | Butter or margarine |
1 1/3 cups | 263g / 9.3oz | Sugar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Asparagus puree - ( cooked ) |
3 oz | 85g | Melted chocolate |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Vanilla |
1 3/4 cups | 109g / 3.8oz | Flour |
3 | Eggs | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Buttermilk |
Cream butter and sugar. blend in asparagus, chocolate, vanilla. Combine flour with baking soda. Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture.
Turn into 2, 8 inch cake pans and bake 350F for 35 minutes or tested done. Cool in pans for 10 minutes and remove to racks to cool. Fill and frost with a chocolate frosting.
