| 2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Flour | 
| 1 3/4 cups | 346g / 12oz | Sugar | 
| 1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt | 
| 4 tablespoons | 60ml | Cocoa | 
| 1 cup | 237ml | Cold water | 
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Vegetable oil | 
| 1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter | 
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Buttermilk | 
| Eggs | ||
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Soda | 
Combine flour, sugar, salt and cocoa in a large bowl. Mix in a sauce pan, water, oil and butter. Bring to a boil. Pour into dry mix and beat until smooth. Add buttermilk, eggs and soda.
Beat; batter will be thin. Pour into well greased jelly roll pan. Cool on a wire rack; while still a little warm, frost with rocky road frosting.
