6 | Fresh mint leaves | |
Artificial sweetener - equivalent of 2 tsp sugar | ||
1 oz | 28g | Bourbon - (2 tbsp) |
Crushed ice | ||
1 | Fresh mint sprig |
Put the mint leaves and the sweetener in the bottom of a heavy glass. Crush the leaves with a wooden spoon. Add the bourbon and ice and stir to blend the ingredients.
Garnish the Mint Julep cocktail with the mint sprig and enjoy. NOTE: You should stir the ice around in the glass for a while so frost will form on the outside of the glass.
VARIATIONS: Vodka, rum and gin all make excellent Juleps.
Makes 1 cocktail.
