Ham Skillet Gumbo Recipe - Cooking Index
2 cups | 474ml | Dice cooked ham |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Chopped green bell pepper |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Chopped onions |
1 | Cut okra - (10oz) | |
1 | Tomatoes - (15oz) | |
1 cup | 237ml | Chicken broth |
1 cup | 237ml | Water |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Black or cayenne pepper |
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Uncooked rice |
1. Combine all ingredients except rice in a large, heavy skillet; bring to a boil.
2. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
3. Stir in rice and simmer, covered, 20 minutes longer, or until rice is tender.
