Jicama Salad Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 237ml | Jicama - peeled (medium) |
2 | Navel oranges - peeled | |
Salt | ||
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Chile powder |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Chopped unsalted peanuts - (optional) |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Dried red chiles - (optional) |
Lettuce |
Cut jicama into bite-sized pieces and place in large bowl. Section oranges and cut into bite-sized pieces, holding sections over bowl so juice will fall into it. Season to taste with salt. Add chile powder, peanuts and crushed chiles. Mix well, chill and serve on lettuce. Makes 6 to 8 servings
