Ambrosia Recipe - Cooking Index
2 | Navel oranges - small - chilled | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Strawberries - sliced |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Cream sherry |
Peel and seed the oranges, breaking the meat into the natural sections. Slice the sections in half lengthwise over a bowl to catch any juice that may be rendered during the process.
TO ASSEMBLE: Place a layer of orange slices, cut side up, in the bottoms of dessert bowls; add any reserved juice. Cover with a layer of half the strawberries. Add another layer of orange slices and then top with the remaining strawberries. Pour a tablespoon of cream sherry over each dessert.
The sherry is not necessary and can be eliminated or replaced with some preferred liqueur or flavored syrup. Ambrosia is quite delightful and refreshing without any sherry, liqueur, or syrup at all.
