1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Ground beef |
3/4 cup | 109g / 3.8oz | Bread crumbs |
1 | Egg | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Salt |
Pepper | ||
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Garlic powder |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Oil |
1/2 cup | 55g / 1.9oz | Celery - chopped |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Green pepper - chopped |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion - chopped (medium) |
8 oz | 227g | Tomato sauce |
Beat egg, add water and seasoning. Add meat and bread crumbs.
Shape in small balls (makes about 18-20).
Brown in oil. Remove meat balls. Saute celery, green pepper, and onion -- do not brown.
Add tomato sauce. Add meatballs and cook 1/2 hour.
