Philadelphia Cheese Steak Sandwich (Lower Fat) Recipe - Cooking Index
Nonstick butter-flavored cooking spray | ||
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Thinly sliced onion rings |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Thinly sliced green bell pepper |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Thinly sliced red bell pepper |
12 oz | 340g | Swanky flanky steak - very thinly sliced |
4 | French or hoagie-style rolls - halved lengthwise | |
4 oz | 113g | Reduced-fat cheddar or muenster cheese - thinly sliced |
Coat nonstick medium skillet with cooking spray. Heat over medium-high heat. Add onion and bell peppers.
Cook, stirring constantly, 2 to 3 minutes, adding a little water from time to time to prevent sticking and over-browning.
Preheat broiler. Divide sliced flank steak over opened rolls.
Cover with onion mixture. Top with cheese. Broil, close to heat source, 1 minute or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
